Do I need an attorney to represent me in the MN Social Security Disability process?

There is no requirement that you have an attorney at any stage of the Disability Process. In my experience, the Social Security Administration encourages legal representation particularly at the Hearing Level.

Not only must an attorney have a working knowledge of the Social Security Regulations and Rulings concerning particular impairments, but the attorney must also be experienced in analyzing the data from the medical records in formulating a theory of disability.
